www.afcrossroads.com This is an official community website of the United States Air Force. It provides an avenue to maintain a sense of community for AF members. It has links to sites such as casualty and loss, family separations and readiness and other related WEB sites. The search engine is currently inactive, but will be reactivated once all of the remaining sections to the site have been completed.
www.apa.org The American Psychological Association. This website provides information for CEU’s, products, and different mental health programs. It has links to various sites to review journals and press releases. This site also links directly to articles and books about suicide.
www.nimh.nih.gov/research/suicidefaq.cfm The National Institute of Mental Health. This site provides frequently asked questions about suicide. Some of the questions are, “What should you do if someone tells you they are thinking about suicide?” and “Why do men commit suicide more often than women?” It also has contact numbers for public inquiries.

www.nmha.org The National Mental Health Association. This is a non-profit organization addressing all aspects of mental health and mental illness. It has search capabilities to find information on suicide attempts, trends, etc.

http://www.nami.org The National Alliance For Mentally Ill. This non-profit organization website provides education about services for people with severe mental illnesses, which are known to be physical brain disorders. It has links to several sites for suicide awareness and education. Provides a list of hot topics, educational opportunities and current research.
www.save.org The Suicide Awareness Voices of Education. This site is designed to advocate about suicide prevention and to speak for suicide survivors. It has site navigation and a list of articles, books and facts about suicide. You can receive information by e-mail and it lists a national hotline number.
www.samhsa.gov The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services website. This site is charged with improving the quality of prevention, treatment and rehabilitative services in order to reduce illness, death and disability from substance abuse and mental illness. It has links to hot topics, addiction treatment, mental health services, statistics and data as well as workplace resources.

This site is designed to identify the most significant preventable threats to health and to establish national goals to reduce these threats. It has a search feature that allows you to look up topics like suicide and preventing violence. Some topics under suicide include reducing the suicide rate, reducing the rate of suicide attempts by adolescents and reducing firearm related deaths.

This site identifies the Surgeon General’s blue print to prevent suicide in the United States, released 28 July 1999. Some of the topics covered include suicide among the elderly, suicide among the young and initiatives addressing suicide/risk factors.
